Stage 1 – Scottish Land Fund

What we have achieved…

The Brig Inn Community Pub & Hub project has made exciting progress over the past year as we work together to bring this much-loved building back into community hands. With strong local support and a shared vision for the future of Brydekirk, we’ve already achieved some important early milestones.

We were delighted to be awarded Stage 1 funding from the Scottish Land Fund, which enabled us to carry out vital surveys on the building, consult with the community and develop our plans. This support gave us the foundation to move forward confidently and demonstrate the strength of our case for community ownership.

We also received a grant from the Plunkett Foundation, which has helped us create this very website. Having an online presence means we can keep our community informed, reach a wider audience, and share our journey as it unfolds.

Alongside this, we’ve been busy gathering share pledges from local residents and supporters near and far. The positive response has been overwhelming and confirms that there is real appetite and belief in what this project can offer – not just a pub, but a warm, welcoming hub at the heart of village life.
